केंद्रीय मंत्री चिराग पासवान ने कांग्रेस सांसद चरणजीत सिंह चन्नी द्वारा 'वारिस पंजाब दे' के प्रमुख और निर्दलीय सांसद अमृतपाल सिंह को लेकर लोकसभा में दिए गए बयान पर कहा, "सरकार किसी की आजादी को नहीं दबा रही है, इन लोगों को किसी की आजादी पर चर्चा करने का कोई अधिकार नहीं है, ये वही लोग हैं जिन्होंने आपातकाल लगाकर सबकी आवाज दबाई थी. मुझे नहीं लगता कि कोई भी व्यक्ति जिसकी बात कर रहा है उसकी सोच का समर्थन करता है... अगर कभी भी राष्ट्रहित पर उंगली उठाई गई तो यह सरकार उस पर चुप नहीं रहेगी..."


Union Minister Chirag Paswan said on the statement made by Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi in the Lok Sabha regarding 'Waris Punjab De' chief and independent MP Amritpal Singh, "The government is not suppressing anyone's freedom, these people have no right to discuss anyone's freedom, these are the same people who suppressed everyone's voice by imposing emergency. I don't think anyone supports the thinking of what the person is talking about... If ever a finger is raised on national interest, this government will not remain silent on it..."
