Bargain shopping for top trends is a big driver of the global economy, but often comes with a price you don’t see.

One of the biggest names in fast fashion recently planted roots in Canada. Founded in China in 2008 by entrepreneur Chris Xu and based in Singapore, Shein has taken the fashion world by storm.

last November, Shein opened a 170,000-square-foot warehouse with corporate offices in Markham, Ont.

The band’s meteoric success is driven by rock-bottom prices but as Anne Gaviola reports, there are major concerns about its business model.
