Sean Connery, the Scottish “national hero” who rose to international stardom as suave secret service agent James Bond, has died aged 90.
The charismatic Scot will forever be remembered as British agent 007, a character immortalised by Connery who was the first to play the role in 1962.
His signature line: “The name’s Bond… James Bond,” has become legend.
Connery played a series of noteworthy roles, winning an Oscar, two Baftas and three Golden Globes.
