A shipyard was left in flames in Russia-controlled Crimea on Wednesday, following a Ukrainian missile and unmanned drone strike which left two ships damaged.

The Ukrainian military launched 10 missiles and three sea drone attacks on the Sevastopol Shipyard port early in the morning, Russia’s defence ministry said.

Of the 10 missiles, seven were reportedly destroyed by Russia’s air defence system and all three Ukrainian sea drones taken down by a patrol ship.

The shipyard, plotted on the Crimean peninsula — which Russia seized from Ukraine in 2014 — is where ships and submarines of the Russian Black Sea Fleet are built and repaired.

On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed he thinks Ukraine will continue its counteroffensive against Russia, before holding “peace talks" to replenish their resources.
