Russia: Satellite captures eruption of Shiveluch volcano

Dramatic satellite imagery has captured the violent eruption of a volcano in eastern Russia.

The Shiveluch volcano has been spewing ash and smoke for several days, burying surrounding villages in ash.

Maxar Technologies, the company which made its name photographing the Russian invasion of Ukraine from space, captured the ash plume rising into the sky.
