Rumana Monzur hopes her story alerts victims of intimate partner violence | Canada Tonight

Rumana Monzur escaped intimate partner violence in Bangladesh and became a lawyer in Vancouver — despite being blinded by her ex-husband. Out of Darkness by Denise Chong, a former journalist, recounts Monzur’s life during and after enduring years of domestic violence. Monzur says she considers her abuse ‘a textbook case’ and hopes people will be able to pick up on red flags by reading it.
