Wildfires and withering temperatures are scorching the U.S.

The searing heat isn’t just making fire conditions worse, it’s hindering firefighting efforts in parts of California.

Severe drought conditions are sparking wildfires.

Firefighters battling the many wildfires say the air is so dry that much of the water dropped by aircraft evaporates before it reaches the ground.
