RCMP confirm investigation into sexual abuse allegations at Manitoba residential school

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed on Tuesday that in 2010, they began investigating sexual abuse allegations at the former Fort Alexander Residential School in Manitoba. Indigenous children from 21 communities were forced to attend the school for decades.

Mounties say they've poured over archived school records in both Manitoba and Ottawa, and interviewed more than 700 people across North America, gathering 75 witness and victim statements.
