New York Gov. Kathy Hochul says she has directed New York State Police to work with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force to monitor all points of entry into the state after a vehicle explosion on the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls on Wednesday.

In Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed the vehicle explosion at the U.S.-Canada border crossing, while Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc said that Canada is taking the situation “extremely seriously.”

There is no official confirmation at this time on the nature of the vehicle explosion.

The Rainbow Bridge is currently shut down and the FBI says its Buffalo, N.Y., field office is investigating.
