Queen attends church service in first appearance since Prince Harry, Meghan retire as working royals

Queen Elizabeth II attended a church service on Sunday morning at St. Mary the Virgin Church near Sandringham in her first public appearance since it was announced Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would step away as working royals.

The Queen was seen speaking with church leaders and received cheers from onlookers both prior to entering the church and when she left after service.

Buckingham Palace made the announcement on Saturday that the couple would no longer be using their royal titles and would step back from Royal duties, including official military appointments, and no longer receive public funds for Royal duties.

The couple also said they will repay public money used to refurbish Frogmore Cottage, however it would remain their U.K. home.
