Opening arguments began on Monday in the racially charged trial of a white former police officer accused of killing a Black man, George Floyd, in May last year.
The prosecution and defence are laying out the case for whether Floyd's death was a result of excessive force or a combination of heart problems, drugs and COVID-19, and began by showing the video of Derek Chauvin with his knee on Floyd's neck.
Floyd's killing subsequently set off global protests against racism and police brutality.
