The Home Secretary has made a statement in the House of Commons on the government's controversial plan to send migrants to Rwanda for processing.

Ms Patel said that the cost of the asylum system is the "highest for two decades" and insisted that access to the system "should be based on need, not on the ability to pay people smugglers."
