Prime Time With Ravish Kumar - 7 February, 2022: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today spoke about the devastation caused by the pandemic, responding to criticism of the government's policies in parliament. He accused opposition parties of contributing to the spread of Covid in the early months by pushing migrant labourers to leave Mumbai and Delhi. The Congress, said the PM, had committed a "paap and mahaapradh (sin and huge crime)" by driving people into crisis. He even went on to link the criticism as well as the questions asked by the opposition over the government's handling of the pandemic to defamation. PM Modi said, "Some people thought that the coronavirus will damage the image of Modi." Would it really be considered an attempt to defame the government when numerous people were dying due to lack of oxygen? NDTV's Ravish Kumar takes a look.
