Prime Time - November 19, 2020: On Wednesday evening, health ministry data showed that over the previous 24 hours, the national capital had logged 7,486 new coronavirus cases, taking the infection tally in the city to over 5 lakh. Data also showed that the number of fatalities recorded was 131 -- the highest single-day count in Delhi till date, pushing the number of deaths to 7,943. Over the last weeks, to grapple with the surge that had once crossed the 8,000 mark, the Centre has flown in para-medical personnel and increased the number of beds in hospitals. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a steep ₹ 2,000 fine -- up from the current ₹ 500 -- for those caught without masks, to help control the coronavirus surge that's in its third week.
