Joe Biden has begun work as US President Elect — picking the first members of a coronavirus taskforce which will work on tackling the pandemic.
The former US Republican President George W Bush has congratulated Mr Biden on his victory. He said the election had been “fundamentally fair and the outcome is clear”.
Donald Trump has still not accepted the result and has repeated his claims that the election was “stolen”, without providing evidence.
In his first speech since being declared the winner Mr Biden told supporters that he wants to “restore the soul” of America - and told those who didn't vote for him that they should give each other a chance.
