US President Joe Biden says he believes "a woman's right to choose is fundamental" after a leaked document suggested the US Supreme Court could overturn the historic legal ruling.

He said the draft document was authentic and promised to fight any attempt by the court to roll back abortion rights, which were enshrined in constitutional law by Roe v Wade in 1973.
