The plans for Pope Francis' visit to Canada are not yet hammered down, according to the Canadian Council of Catholic Bishops, but Global News has learned that sites in Quebec and Alberta are among those provinces being considered.

For residential school survivors and their families, a visit by the Pope to Indigenous lands is an important step towards reconciliation.

As Heather Yourex-West reports, there are strong feelings the visit must honour the children who never came home.
