A pigeon smuggling cannabis into a Peruvian prison was caught by police on Thursday.
Officers said the thirsty “narco pigeon” was intercepted as it landed on the grounds of the Huancayo prison to drink water from a puddle.
The bird was carrying at least 30g of marijuana, police said.
Prison staff notified the Public Ministry to investigate where the bird and the drugs came from.
