Pandemic 'learning Loss' will cost our kids and the economy | Fox News Rundown

During the pandemic, schools across the country shut down and shifted to remote learning. Now, studies show that the consequences of this have left American students with an education deficit, with difficulties in key areas such as reading and math. Harvard University Professor of Education Thomas Kane joins the Rundown to discuss what factors in remote learning contributed to the negative phenomenon of learning loss and why school districts need to reconsider how they spend their funds to help students recover. Later, Illinois’ Peoria County Regional Superintendent Beth Crider joins to discuss how she’s witnessed students’ learning and development be stunted by the pandemic and what action can be taken now to mitigate the severe learning loss.
