The eighth annual Palestinian film festival has begun in Ramallah, providing residents in the occupied West Bank a welcome opportunity to watch films about the region's culture.
Over the next five days, Palestine Cinema Days will screen more than 60 fiction, documentary and short films.
Palestine's entry to the Oscars this year is The Stranger, seven years in the making, directed by Ameer Fakher Eldin from the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.

Al Jazeera’s Hoda Abdel-Hamid reports from Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank.
