In what is believed to be a first, a Palestinian court is hearing a case against an Israeli settler accused of damaging land and vandalising property in the occupied West Bank.
Muntaser Nafe, a Palestinian, has been trying to build his home in the village of Burin, south of the West Bank city of Nablus, for eight years but Israeli settlers keep vandalising it.
He filed a case against one of them in a Palestinian court. While Palestinian courts do not have jurisdiction over Israeli citizens, they are hearing the case because the settler is a dual citizen.
Palestinians want the International Criminal Court in The Hague to investigate Israeli settlement activity.

Al Jazeera’s Nida Ibrahim reports from Nablus Court in the occupied West Bank.
