Imran Khan, Pakistan's prime minister, is the country's first to be deposed by a no-confidence vote. Khan, who remained obstinate "to the last ball," was deposed well after midnight, following a day of high drama in the Pakistan assembly. The reigning Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) administration was voted out after losing a no-confidence motion, and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, who is presently the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, is expected to become the new Prime Minister.
