Video footage captured an army helicopter rescue of a boy stranded in the middle of a heavily-flooded stream in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday.

The rescue came as the military and rescue workers tried to help other residents stranded by floodwaters, and distribute food and other supplies to those in shelters.

On Saturday, the country's prime minister, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, called for those with wealth to assist those in poor areas of the country impacted by the flooding.

The death toll from the flooding that has hit the country over the past several weeks surpassed 1,000 this weekend.
