Nova Scotia's Premier-designate Tim Houston and chief medical officer of health Dr. Robert Strang released on Monday the province's back-to-school plan.

The plan will see a return to all school activities including clubs, gyms and sports. Visitors will be allowed into schools and amenities will be open to the public after hours.

The premier-designate said that Phase 5 of reopening is now set to begin on Sept. 15, based on the projection showing 75 per cent of the population fully vaccinated by then.

Nova Scotia is also reinstating border measures with New Brunswick, given the recent COVID-19 outbreaks.

All unvaccinated travellers coming into Nova Scotia will now have to quarantine for two weeks, while people vaccinated with one dose will quarantine for one week and get a COVID-19 test.
