"Not A Currency, An Asset": Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman On Crypto

"The RBI will be issuing a digital currency. A currency is a currency only when issued by the central bank even if it's a crypto. RBI can issue digital currency. Everything outside of it, loosely all of us refer to it as cryptocurrency, they are not currencies... they are assets," Nirmala Sitharaman on being asked if even cryptocurrency would be taxed.
