Nigeria mosque collapse: At least 7 worshippers killed in Zaria

Seven people died and several others were injured after a mosque filled with worshippers caved in on Friday in Nigeria's northern city of Zaria, in Kaduna state.

Zaria Emirates council spokesman Abdullahi Kwarbai said the incident occurred as hundreds of faithful observed afternoon prayers at the city's central mosque.

"Four bodies were found initially, and then three others were found after the rescue team searched the collapsed mosque," he said.

Eyewitness Muhammed Tukur separately said that “But at the end, we give Allah the praise because he protected us because the mosque is divided into different segments and it is one of the segments where it happened.”
