NHS tweaks could see chemists prescribing drugs without GP being involved

Patients will be able to receive prescription medicines without seeing a GP, under new plans announced by the government, with the hope of easing the strain on surgeries.

Under the proposals, pharmacists will be able to write prescriptions for common conditions such as earaches, sore throats, and urinary tract infections.
