The NHL is back for the 2021-22 NHL season and we’re taking a look at who’s new, who’s gone and who to lookout for as the NHL’s Canadian teams in Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver begin their quest towards winning the Stanley Cup.

After falling only three games shy of winning a Stanley Cup during a seemingly improbable run last season, Montreal has seen plenty of changes this off season.

With the disappointment of last season’s first round ouster behind them, the Toronto Maple Leafs have re-tooled their team behind their “core four” stars.

The Ottawa Senators remain a young squad, but all eyes are on restricted free agent Brady Tkachuk and if he’ll be back in the line-up.

The Edmonton Oilers brought in free agent forward Zach Hyman and veteran defenceman Duncan Keith among others during the off season to push them further.

The Calgary Flames should have solid goaltending and decent depth on offence, but will they be able to replace the leadership of their long-time captain?

The Winnipeg Jets made a couple of changes on their defence this past off season and will return all their top six forwards for another push for a Stanley Cup.

The Vancouver Canucks have locked up two of their franchise players and will look to some youth for further depth.
