Tens of thousands attended a vigil at Hagley Park in Christchurch on Sunday to remember those killed in the mosque attacks earlier this month.
People came along with family, chairs, picnic blankets and women wore headscarves to show their solidarity with the victims.
“I think we're going grow back stronger and with a fortified sense of unity between everyone, and all different cultures and religions and it's going to be amazing,” said one of those in attendance, Alana Macgregor.
"I thought what better way to have a vigil and put on a bit of music and sort of try and bring the community back together but also to show support to the Muslim community because this is a tragic event that has hit them very hard," the organiser Scott Esdaile said.
The names of the 50 innocent people killed were read out by the Linwood mosque Imam Ibrahim Abdul Halim, and the crowd was asked to hold a minute of silence to pay their respects to those killed
