New Canadian guidelines suggest limiting alcohol consumption to 2 drinks per week

Consuming more than two standard alcoholic drinks per week increases your risk of heart disease, stroke, or cancer, according to the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction.

The CCSA report is an update to Canada’s Low-Risk Alcohol Drinking Guidelines that were published in 2011.

The definition of a standard drink in Canada is equivalent to 12 oz of beer or cider, 5 oz of wine or 1.5 oz of spirits.
