U.S. President Joe Biden is calling for a significant de-escalation of violence in Gaza, where missiles fired by Israeli troops and Hamas militants have killed dozens of innocent civilians.

Israel continued to pound targets in Gaza with airstrikes Wednesday, while Israel was bombarded with rocket fire throughout the day.

But as Redmond Shannon reports, Israel's President Benjamin Netanyahu is rebuking calls for calm.
