MP 'suspects' there may be new legislation to protect politicians' houses from protesters

Tory MP Tobias Ellwood's house was targeted by pro-Palestinian protesters, and he now says he suspects new laws will be introduced to protect MPs in much the same way legislation was brought forward to ban people from climbing on statues.

Speaking to Sky News, Mr Ellwood said: "So I suspect that we're going to see legislation on perhaps protecting homes as well.

"What happens, though, when the election starts, we lose the MP status, we all just become candidates then.
