The threat of violence in Myanmar has international rights groups calling for action from the UN Security Council.
A coalition of more than 200 non-governmental organisations wants a ban on weapons sales to the military.
That is as opposition groups in Myanmar set up a “people's defence force”, to protect civilians.
But so far China and Russia have resisted calls for stronger action.
