Members of the U.S. House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol are expected to hear more eye-opening details on former president Donald Trump as the hearings enter the final stretch.

This week, the public will see testimony from former White House counsel Pat Cipollone and lawmakers are promising more bombshell testimony. But it comes as recent polls show most Republicans see the Jan. 6 riot as a legitimate protest and not an insurrection.

As Jennifer Johnson reports, lawmakers are hoping to deliver damning evidence that shows Trump encouraged the attack with the goal of overturning the 2020 presidential election.
