The Siberian city of Novosibirsk was rocked by an enormous explosion yesterday afternoon.
Reports confirmed that 25 people were injured, including four gas station employees and two firefighters.
Footage captured by eyewitnesses shows flames shot hundreds of feet into the air after the explosion, as bystanders feared the blast could be a ‘nuke’ due to the unusual cloud formation in its aftermath.
The windows of residential blocks in the surrounding area were shattered and people were evacuated as emergency services closed nearby roads while they tackled the blaze.
The cause of the explosion is still unknown, and local authorities have confirmed that they have launched an investigation to find those responsible.
