At the latest ski jumping World Cup event in Italy, Karl Geiger won his second consecutive title, beating out Stefan Kraft. The Houston Astros received one of the most severe punishments in league history after the league found they used video technology to cheat during the 2017 championship year. Manager AJ Hinch and GM Jeff Luhnow were both suspended for one-year by the league and then fired shortly after by team owner Jim Crane.
