Oakland County, Michigan prosecutor Karen McDonald announced Wednesday that charges were being laid against the 15-year-old suspect in the Oxford High School shooting, stressing he will be charged as an adult.

She said he was being charged with one count of terrorism causing death, four counts of first degree murder, seven counts of assault with intent to murder and 12 counts of possession of a firearm and a commission of a felony.

McDonald says going forward the process becomes more "methodical," with more evidence to be collected, but they would leave "no stone left unturned." She added additional charges could be laid based on what is uncovered in the investigation.

County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said Tuesday the boy's father had bought the gun that had been used in the shooting on Friday, but it was not known why he had purchased it. Asked Wednesday if the father was under investigation or could face charges, McDonald said they were considering charges against both parents and would make a decision "swiftly."
