About 100 Mexican firefighters have now arrived in British Columbia to help emergency crews as they are pushed to the brink by an overwhelming wildfire season.
There are over 260 wildfires burning in the province right now, which have burned more than 376,000 hectares land – already more than the 2020 fire season. Lauren Pullen reports on unprecedented fire season from southeastern B.C.
Meanwhile, firefighters are also facing crisis in the western United States, where about 80 wildfires are raging out of control across the region, burning half a million hectares. And as Jennifer Johnson reports, COVID-19 is further complicating the struggle to put them out.
