Researchers in southern Manitoba have found what appears to be a complete fossilized skeleton of a Mosasaur, the so-called "T-Rex of the deep."
Adolfo Cuetara, executive director of the Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre in Morden, Man., joins Global News' Coleen Christie on the exciting discovery.
“Eighty-three million years ago, there was an interior seaway, a channel of ocean communicating the gulf of Mexico with the Arctic Ocean and Hudson’s Bay,” Cuetara said. “So we have really big expectations about what we can find this year and next year.”
For those who are looking to catch a glimpse of the fossil being worked on, the centre is offering tours of the site.
