Major moment as inflation falls to 2% target after three-year battle

The rate of inflation dropped to 2% in May, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

It was down from 2.3% in April and ends a three-year battle to return price rises to target levels.

It hasn't been this low since July 2021.
