An Italian mafia boss, Giovanni Brusca, known as ‘the people-slayer’, has been released on parole in Italy, sparking widespread outrage. The notorious mafioso was a key figure in the Cosa Nostra organized crime syndicate, and convicted of taking part in more than 100 murders.
