यूपी के संभल से समाजवादी पार्टी के उम्मीदवार ज़िया उर रहमान के ख़िलाफ़ भड़काऊ बयान देने के मामले में केस दर्ज हो गया। जिसके बाद ज़िया उर रहमान बीजेपी, चुनाव आयोग और प्रशासन पर जमकर भड़के। इससे पहले एक चुनावी सभा में ज़िया उर रहमान ने माफिया अतीक अहमद, मुख़्तार अंसारी और शहाबुद्दीन को एक नायक के तौर पर पेश करते हुए भड़काऊ बयान दिया था और उनकी कुर्बानी ज़ाया नहीं जाने देने की अपील की थी।

A case has been registered against Samajwadi Party candidate Zia Ur Rehman from Sambhal, UP for making inflammatory statements. After which Zia ur Rehman got furious at BJP, Election Commission and administration. Earlier, in an election rally, Zia ur Rehman had given a provocative statement presenting mafia Atiq Ahmed, Mukhtar Ansari and Shahabuddin as heroes and appealed not to let their sacrifice go in vain.
