The government will look into any penalties given to families travelling during lockdown for childcare purposes, Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said.

Mr Hancock said he would "talk to my Treasury colleagues" about the matter, after a vicar asked him whether this course of action would be considered in the daily government briefing.

This comes as the Conservative party faces mounting pressure from the public and its own MPs to force No.10 senior adviser Dominic Cummings to resign, after it was alleged he and his family broke lockdown more than once.
