Thousands of people expected line the streets in the center of the Georgian capital for a ‘welcome home’ parade for Georgia’s national soccer team. The team will be driven in an open top bus along Tbilisi’s Rustaveli Avenue to the city’s Freedom Square where the stage is set for a heroes’ welcome and a concert. The Georgian team performed beyond expectations at their first major tournament, reaching the last 16 stage at Euro 2024 in Germany before losing 4-1 to Spain.
