बजट सत्र की शुरूआत 31 जनवरी से हुई थी. सोमवार से सत्र का दूसरा फेज शुरू हुआ. लोकसभा और राज्यसभा की कार्यवाही शुरू होते ही सत्ता पक्ष के सांसदों ने राहुल गांधी के लंदन में दिए भाषण को लेकर शोर मचाना शुरू कर दिया. सांसदों ने राहुल गांधी से माफी मांगने की मांग की. हंगामे के कारण दोनों सदनों की कार्यवाही दोपहर 2 बजे तक के लिए स्थगित की गई. लोकसभा की कार्यवाही पर चर्चा के लिए लोकसभा अध्यक्ष ने दोपहर को कार्य मंत्रणा समिति की बैठक भी बुलाई थी. इस बैठक से कांग्रेस और डीएमके ने वॉक आउट कर दिया. कांग्रेस के अधीर रंजन चौधरी और डीएमके के टी आर बालू बैठक का बहिष्कार कर बाहर चले गए. अधीर रंजन चौधरी ने कहा कि सदन में सरकारी पक्ष अपनी बात बोलकर विपक्ष को बोलने नहीं देता.लोकसभा में रक्षा मंत्री और सदन के उपनेता राजनाथ सिंह ने कहा कि राहुल गांधी ने लंदन में जाकर भारत को बदनाम करने की कोशिश की है. राज्यसभा में सदन के नेता और वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने यह विषय उठाया और राहुल गांधी पर निशाना साधा. केंद्रीय मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने कहा कि उन्होंने (राहुल गांधी) विदेशी जमीन पर भारतवासियों और सदन का अपमान किया है. भारत में वाक स्वतंत्रता है और संसद में सभी अपनी बात रखते हैं. उन्हें भारत के ऊपर इस प्रकार की टिप्पणी करने का कोई अधिकार नहीं है. उन्हें सदन में आकर माफी मांगनी चाहिए

Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that he (Rahul Gandhi) has insulted Indians and Gods on foreign soil. There is freedom in India and everyone keeps his point in the Parliament. He has no right to make such comments on India. they should come home
