LIVE: New York Attorney General Letitia James files lawsuit against Trump

New York Attorney General Letitia James is set to make a “major announcement,” her office said. On Wednesday, Donald Trump was sued for fraud by the New York state's attorney general, who for more than three years has been conducting a civil investigation into the former U.S. president's business practices, court records showed.

A copy of the complaint was not immediately available. The lawsuit was filed in a New York state court in Manhattan.

The investigation by Attorney General Letitia James has focused on whether the Trump Organization misstated the values of its real estate properties to obtain favorable loans and tax benefits.
