Residents at Sibi in the Nkwanta North District of the Oti region have made a desperate plea to government, groups and individuals to help provide potable water to the community. The current dire situation has seen residents dig around a stinking dirty-brown stagnant water, and wait for it to gather for collection. Such is done in turns until all get water. The only hope for the community is a dugout constructed by their fathers in the 1960s but currently under siege by herds of cattle in the area as the animals also struggle for water to survive. The situation residents say has affected every aspect of their lives. Residents say government workers posted to the area leave after a short stay.
