Kerala Girl, 17, Alleges Abuse By Several Men; 29 Cases Filed, Say Cops

In Kerala's Malappuram, a 17-year-old girl - a rape survivor - has told child welfare officials that she was allegedly raped, sexually abused, and harassed by several men in the last few months. According to police, there are 34 accused. The teenager was traced by the police, after the mother filed a complaint regarding her missing daughter in November. According to the officials, the girl was rescued within two days of the complaint from Palakkad. It was during her counseling, she told officials that she was raped, sexually abused, harassed by several other men. "There are 29 cases registered, based on the teenager's statement since November, of which four are rape cases", Malappuram District Police Chief Abdul Karim U told NDTV.
