The US president-elect Joe Biden has started assembling his team as he prepares to take office in January.

He’s said tackling coronavirus is the key to rebuilding the US economy — and has begun appointing members of a new pandemic taskforce.

The current occupant of the White House, President Trump, is still refusing to concede victory to Mr Biden, despite pressure from fellow Republicans.

Joe Biden has also made no secret of his opposition to Brexit and the UK government's approach to leaving the EU. He’s insisted that the future peace of Northern Ireland cannot be “a casualty of Brexit”

Huw Edwards presents BBC News at Ten reporting by North America editor Jon Sopel and political editor Laura Kuenssberg.
