Italy's former leader calls on Joe Biden to quit presidential campaign

Italy's former prime minster has called on US President Joe Biden to "leave" the presidential election campaign.

Mr Biden has faced calls to quit the contest from fellow Democrats following a stumbling performance against Donald Trump in the first televised presidential debate.

Matteo Renzi told Yalda Hakim: "I love president Biden, I worked with him when he was vice president, but frankly I think it is time for him to leave."
